Wendy Chamberlain has been Liberal Democrat MP for North East Fife since 2019. Born in Greenock, Chamberlain served as a police officer, later working for the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland. She also worked in the private sector and is a member of the governing body for the sport of Shinty. Chamberlain joined the Liberal Democrats after the 2015 election and in 2017 stood in Sterling. Selected for the target seat of North East Fife in 2018 she won the seat at the 2019 election defeating the sitting SNP MP Stephen Gethins. In parliament Chamberlain is the Lib Dem spokesperson for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
